Philadelphia – But the best ingredient on them all to make mac and cheese taste better is Philadelphia cream cheese. Onion – A sauté with some onion will flavour your instant pot prior to adding in pasta and stock. You can do the same as it is a strong tasting cheese and gives a much better flavour. But you don’t just want them to work, you want them to taste better.įor the BEST kraft mac and cheese in the instant pot I highly recommend adding:Ĭheese – I added in some red leicster. These foods come in a box and have a standard list of add in ingredients to make them work. Just look at our instant pot box cake as a true example of this. I’m a HUGE fan of adding extras to box mixes to make them taste better. This recipe is for 2 boxes, so if cooking with just one, then half everything. You can also half our boxed mac and cheese. So, if you are doing this, or feeding a crowd for Thanksgiving note you can double up. Now looking back at the size of my instant pot, I would say that I could cook up to 4 boxes at once without overfilling the instant pot. I admit, I looked down at my box of mac and cheese and thought to myself, that no way is one box going to fill us all up and do leftovers, so I went with two boxes. 2 Boxes Of Mac & Cheese In The Instant Pot That is loaded with 30 FREE bucket list worthy instant pot recipes.Ĭlick here or on the banner above and you will have access to both in an instant. One where there is no draining of the pasta once it has cooked, one that has delicious add ins to make your boxed mac and cheese taste better and one that would be easy to reheat too. Today I wanted to show you a simple recipe for instant pot boxed mac and cheese. I grew up on cans of Heinz macaroni cheese and was curious to see how it compared. I had seen many videos for it, but never had the chance to try it for myself. One of those foods was a Velveeta mac and cheese box. So, in the summer of 2021 when we moved back to the UK after 13 years, we went on a shopping spree getting and trying all the foods we couldn’t try before. What I hated about living in Portugal was all the ingredients I could never get hold of or happened to be way too expensive to have brought into Portugal. Can’t make it now? Then save it for later!.2 Boxes Of Mac & Cheese In The Instant Pot.If you don’t serve this immediately, you may find that you need to stir in a little milk for a creamier consistency. It is also harder than cheese you shred yourself so it doesn’t melt as smooth and creamy. Pre-shredded cheese is coated with anti-clumping agents like cellulose (powdered wood pulp) which dries out your finished cooked dishes. You absolutely MUST shred your own cheese.I prefer mild cheddar because it’s a little creamier and I like the mild flavor but feel free to use whichever cheddar you prefer. If you hate Velveeta, substitute with shredded American cheese.Approximately 3 cups of standard size uncooked macaroni noodles = 1 pound.I use white pepper because I love it but black pepper is totally fine. This might occur if your slow cooker cooks hot and fast. If the sauce gets too thick before the noodles are tender, stir in milk (1/2 cup at a time) to thin out the sauce then continue cooking until the pasta is tender. If the noodles cook quicker than the sauce is absorbed, turn off the heat, uncover, then let rest until the sauce thickens. If you know yours cooks slow and low, plan for up to 3 hours cook time. Good pickup on your part, but a pain if you wanted to use it! So, it looks like Word ignores any styles in text boxes for the purpose of the StyleRef field. When I tried to insert the StyleRef field into the table cell, Heading 2 WAS listed as an available style, as I expected. It was the only Heading 2 style used in my test doc. I repeated the test, but this time with text outside a text box, styled with Heading 2. Guess what? I got the same result as you - a style used in a text box is NOT listed in the available styles for the StyleRef field. I just did a quick test by adding a text box to an empty Word doc, styling it with one of the default styles (‘Subtitle’ in this case), then adding a table and trying to insert a StyleRef field to ‘Subtitle’ into a table cell. My personal opinion of text boxes in Word is that they are the spawn of the devil, and I avoid them wherever possible! I doubt that I can get users to stop pressing ‘Return/Enter’ when filling in this information and was wondering if anyone has a hint/solution/macro that could help? This might be a stretch but do you know if there is a way to set a macro for the StyleRef that eliminates the ‘Return/Enter’ line jump before populating the footer? by Elyssa Ideally, the two lines would appear in the footer on the same line. When they do this, only the second line of the entered info gets displayed in the footer even though both lines within the table are the correct referenced style. Users, in an attempt to control how those two lines are split, will hit ‘Return/Enter.’ In the cell that the StyleRef is pulling information from, the entered info often gets pushed to a second line within the cell. There is one issue that I cannot find the answer to: Hi Rhonda! I have set up a few templates for my office that use this technique. Don’t worry about formatting - the header/footer styles will control that. For example, DocAuthor, DocDate, DocTitle, DocRevNum. Give these styles names that are unique and are unlikely to be used anywhere else in the document (this is critical).
V GS : Gate Voltage is the negative voltage differential between the Gate and the Source which is how hard the MOSFET is being driven. Generally the higher the I D rating of the device compared to the amount of current you need to pass though it, the easier it will be to manage thermals. If you have a device that draws 10A, you need an I D > -10A. Achieving the maximum current through the device assumes that you are driving it fully on and that appropriate heat sinking is applied. this will often be specified under several conditions such as at 25C room temperature and at 100C or similar high operating temperature. I D : Continuous Drain Current is the maximum current that the device can handle. If you’re switching 12V, you need a device with a V DS > -12V and usually you want something with a fair amount of safety margin. V DS : Drain-To-Source Voltage is the maximum voltage that the device can be used to switch. Note that because the device is typically hooked up with the Source connected to the positive voltage which is opposite of an N-Channel device, many of these are spec’d as a negative voltage or current because of the opposite point of reference. MOSFET spec sheets can look pretty complicated, but for many applications we just need to pay attention to a few key parameters that are explained here. If you want to switch a higher voltage load such as a 12V motor, you will need to use a small transistor, MOSFET driver or similar to switch the gate at the Source voltage of 12V to drive the MOSFET completely off.Īn example of this type of circuit is shown to the right. Typical Logic Level Drive Circuit for 12V Load Example Logic Controlled P-Channel Power MOSFET Circuits When used for switching power to a load, P-Channel MOSFETs are typically used on the high side which means they are placed between the load and the power supply voltage. If using this device with a uC, it is possible to drive the MOSFET gate directly from an digital output pin as shown in the example circuit here. The very low ‘ON’ resistance means that there is very little voltage drop through the device and that also helps to keep power dissipation down. When they are turned OFF (Cut-Off Region), they act as an open circuit much like a mechanical switch would when it is off.įor some applications MOSFETs are also used in their Linear Region where they are are partially conducting, such as for an amplifier, analog fan speed controller or battery charger. They are ideally suited for this because when the MOSFET is turned fully ON (Saturation Region), it has a very low resistance and can pass a lot of current without much power being dissipated in the device similar to a mechanical switch. Power MOSFETs are most often used a switches where they are turned fully ON or OFF to control a load such as a motor or high power LEDs. This is denoted by the schematic symbol with the broken line which indicates that it does not conduct when there is no Gate voltage. Enhancement mode means that when the device has zero Gate voltage relative to the Source, the device is off. MOSFET stands for Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor which is why we just call it a MOSFET for short. The NDP6020P is fully 5V and 3.3V logic compatible and is an excellent choice for use with uC.

Technological factors of mediating these aspects for the interactive visual-domain of software are considered, and a techno-aesthetic understanding developed. The project begins by asking: How might the ways in which sound is visually represented influence the choices that are made while those representations are being manipulated and organised as music? Which aspects of sound are represented visually, and how are those aspects shown? Recognising sound as a psychophysical phenomenon, the physical and psychological aspects of aesthetic interest to my work are identified. Towards greater understanding of composing with the software medium, initial questions are taken as stimulus to explore the subject through artistic practice and critical thinking. This practice-based research (conducted 2009–2013) explores visual representation of sound in computer music software. Presented through contextualisation of the portfolio works are developments of a practice in which the acts of programming and composition are intrinsically connected. A new logic to the computational context is needed to fully take advantage of this environment. However, expert computer users lack the possibilities of using coding in those interfaces, and native computer users find that most of the icons they use have no references to real life elements. Mainstream software such as AVID, Adobe Premiere or Apple FinalCut allow to easily understand the principles of editing in real life analog mechanics. The logics used in analog cinema and video editing worked perfectly in this new environment, but they are not exhaustive. Analogous standards had an influence on the terminology used in software and were translated into the new environment (Echeverria 1999). Today's media content is mostly produced, distributed and viewed in a digital environment and uses standardized metaphors and icons that we all recognize. Platforms like Vimeo (2004) and YouTube (2005) have fostered the presence of audiovisual documents in the net. Since the turn of the 21 st century, online video has been popularized due to an increasingly higher bandwidth, better compression codecs and the popularization of technologies like Macromedia Flash and, more recently, HTML5. Most of those interfaces are visually appealing and the use metaphors that relate to the cultural, economic and political systems from where they belong (Lakoff 2003) and are conceived to address a specific audience. GUI allows visual exploration of possibilities and characteristics of the applications. This historical moment was important for the adoption of technologies by a large audience that was mostly familiar with analog processes instead of using computation. It is well known that metaphors used in the first personal computers helped to reduce the gap between analog and computational environments. Since then, Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the field of User Experience (UX), have been growing constantly. In the field of technology, the popularization of icons was done by Xerox and Apple in the early 1980s. The aim was to create a standard visual language that would be international and easy to understand for anyone. In the 1930s, Otto Neurath pioneered with the isotype the progressive development and use of icons in our culture. Standardised protocols such as language or other means of codes, common ways of interaction and a global infrastructure, are needed for the creation of a global society. Standards are important to set up bridges of communication. A critical approach to video editing interfaces. The artefact becomes a formalization of several ideas. It is a multidisciplinary project that involves UX design, software development and film shooting. The technical implementation becomes an experiment to test the importance of narrative patterns and structures of specific ways to formalise a story, while at the same time it questions the idea of final cut, authorship and finished work. Its artistic aim is to point out the relationship between humans and machines by letting the software make decisions during the editing process. This artistic artefact can be considered a working prototype that serves as a proof of a concept. 'iAm' is an online short-film editing engine that generates pseudo-infinite instances of a same story. Because of the strong electrostatic interaction between these oppositely charged ions, ionic compounds form rigid crystals. A certain number of anions encircle each cation and vice versa. Why do ionic compounds form hard crystals?Ĭrystal lattices having oppositely charged ions make up the crystals of electrovalent substances. Many consecutive positive and negative ions are linked in a matrix to form a crystal.Ģ. Ionic chemicals form crystals rather than molecules. Crystals of ionic compounds have high melting and boiling points.Metals transmit valence electrons to non-metals to generate ionic compounds.Ionic compounds have a total net neutral charge because the opposite charges balance each other out.Ionic compounds are made up of ions with opposing charges kept together by ionic bonds.Other common uses of ionic compounds are shown below: While a salt crystal is an electrical insulator, saline fluids (salt mixed in water) do not. Table salt, often known as sodium chloride, is an ionic substance, and the melting point of salt is very high. The dispersed ions in ionic compounds mixed with water can carry electric current through the mixture. When mixed with water, they conduct electricity.Ionic crystals are difficult to distinguish because the positive and negative ions are firmly attached.High temperatures are demanded to counteract the affinity between oppositely charged ions in ionic compounds. They have very high melting and boiling points. An ionic crystal is a regular pattern at the atomic scale, with the cation and anion cycling and generating a three-dimensional framework based on the smaller ion uniformly filling up the spaces between the bigger ions. Though molecular substances may form crystals, they generally do so in different shapes than ionic compounds, and molecular crystals are generally smoother than crystalline materials. Instead of amorphous solids, ionic compounds produce crystal lattices. Metals and non-metals commonly form ionic connections. Cations tend to get a positive charge, whereas anions have a negative charge. Nonmetals acquire negative charge by losing electrons and forming anions, whereas metals gain positive charge by losing electrons and forming cations. Ions are molecules that lose or gain electrons, and they will also have an opposite charge. Ionic compounds are compounds made up entirely of ions. Let’s learn about these compounds and crystals in detail. Others believe the “magic” lies in the crystal’s structural form, in which the cations and anions stack up in a predictable pattern □ These crystals are made up of ionic compounds. Crystals are thought to have magical properties by some individuals □. The ruby crystal seen here is incredibly precious, both for its aesthetic value and application in lasers.
